🤖 AI Agents Are Coming to OpenFOAM
A newly published research project, IteraSim RAG, explores how AI agents can automate one of the most time-consuming parts of CFD: setting up OpenFOAM simulations.
Instead of simply generating text, the system uses a multi-agent workflow to:
Generate OpenFOAM case files
Recommend appropriate solvers and turbulence models
Configure boundary conditions
Review and correct simulation setups using solver logs
The researchers report that all benchmark OpenFOAM cases ran successfully after the automated setup, highlighting the growing potential of AI-assisted CFD workflows.
